We looked for a good place with a great reputation for dumplings. Shanghai taste didn't disappoint. We had the pork and the beef dumplings, and they were so good. The brown had so much flavor inside, and the meat was tender and delicious. Please check this place out if you are looking for some great food.

The best Shanghainese food in Dallas area, felt like coming back to hometown. The Scallion Pancake brought back the good memories of teenage time, also a fan of Shanghai Crispy Shrimp. Fried rice cake is a must for the family every time. Service and atmosphere are both very friendly

We ordered a wide variety of dishes, including the duck, pork ribs, pork dumplings, beef dumplings, crab dumplings, and wontons—and everything was absolutely fantastic. This might be one of the best spots I’ve tried in the Plano/Richardson area so far. The pork ribs stood out in particular—the seasoning was perfectly balanced, flavorful without being overly salty, which was a pleasant surprise. I’m so glad we decided to try this place on a whim. Service was solid—staff were quick to respond to requests. The only downside is that the tables are a bit too close together, but the restaurant is clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back to this location.

Nestled in a shopping center full of Asian restaurants, this one truly stands out and exceeded all our expectations. First off, the soup dumplings were incredible—bursting with juicy flavor. The pan-fried soup dumplings were equally delicious and had the perfect crispy bottom. We came as a group of seven, and their ordering system made everything super easy. You’re given a paper menu when you walk in, where you mark off your selections—perfect for splitting checks and keeping things organized. Love that! We ordered a wide variety to share: • Scallion oil noodles (so flavorful!) • Fried shrimp and fried chicken (both crispy and well-seasoned) • Wonton soup and chicken fried rice (comfort food perfection) • And the surprise hit? Nutella and banana stuffed dumplings – absolutely mind-blowing! Your taste buds will thank you. The space is on the smaller side, so I highly recommend making a reservation, especially for larger groups. We were able to sit seven comfortably, but calling ahead definitely helps. Despite the size, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The service was excellent—attentive and friendly—and one thing I really appreciated was how clean and open the kitchen felt. You can actually see the chefs preparing dumplings through a window to the left as you walk in, which added a nice, authentic touch. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience, and we’re already planning our next visit. If you’re in Plano and craving dumplings, Shanghai Taste is a must-try!

Amazing food across the board! We tried everything on the menu, and the whole family loved it. Standouts included the fried pork chops, xiao long bao and the Shanghai scallion noodles—both a hit with kids and adults. But honestly, everything was absolutely delicious!

Absolutely delicious! The soup dumplings were fresh, juicy, and perfectly steamed—each bite was bursting with flavor. The texture of the dough was spot on: soft yet firm enough to hold in all that rich, savory broth. Everything came out hot and beautifully presented. Definitely a must-try spot for dumpling lovers. First time experience at this restaurant. For a Friday afternoon around 6 the establishment was fairly busy . Upon entering the restaurant it was very clean and upkept. My significant other and I were seated immediately. The restaurant is pretty close together with seating but i dont mind at all. The tables have chili oil and vinegar on them(10/10) combination. We ordered 2 orders of the beef soup dumplings (10/10) the broth was very flavorful and the beef was fresh. We have been looking all over the DFW area for only beef as we cannot eat pork. So if your looking for really great XLB dumplings come here!!! We also ordered the chicken fried rice and this was hands down the best fried rice we have both had in the DFW area !! We have gone to many restaurants and this one tops every single one of them. We also had the curry beef noodle soup . Now i will say i wish the broth had more flavor it tasted a bit watery but after adding soy sauce and chili oil it was better, it had a light curry taste which we appreciated. Overall we would be back to this restaurant we were very impressed. The waitress/waiter and host were very kind and informative.

I would give 5 starts for the wonton in chili oil alone because I love that I am able to sub with the fish filling. It’s hands down my favorite thing that keeps me coming back but every item on the menu is so good and fresh. My kids love their food and they love to watch them filling dumplings in the window on the way in. The place is very modern and clean inside and the staff is always so friendly. Highly recommend, this has become our favorite place to get dumplings.
